WFN Types and Trigger Values

Absences: A notification is created if the employee has not arrived. This notification uses the employee’s scheduled arrival time; it does not rely upon the presence of the absence time card exception code. Trigger value: specify the number of minutes after scheduled arrival time that the employee is considered absent.

Active Employees Without Schedules: Reminds a supervisor that schedules for his employees have not been created for the upcoming week. Trigger value: number of days prior to start of the pay period.

Approaching Overtime: Warns the supervisor of employees who will earn overtime during the current pay period given the number of hours worked to date in the pay period and the employee’s schedule for the remainder of the pay period.

Attendance Notification: Pertains to the attendance points component. When an attendance notification is awarded to the employee, the supervisor can be notified. No trigger value; this notification should be scheduled to run late in the day after the employee’s activity for the day has been recorded on their time card.

Clock Offline: Used to notify appropriate personnel that the time clock is offline and not available.

Consecutive Days of Pay Type: This WFN type monitors time entries for the specified pay type. A notification is generated when an employee's time entries match this pay type over the specified number of consecutive days. Days must be scheduled to be considered consecutive. For example, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday would be considered consecutive days if the employee was not scheduled to work on Wednesday.Note: This WFN type only applies to Hours Entry Time Card and Misc Pay transactions.

Early Arrival: Compares the employee’s arrival time to their scheduled arrival time. It does not rely upon the presence of a particular early arrival time card exception code. Trigger value: minutes arrived before schedule.

Early Departure: Compares the employee’s departure time to his scheduled departure time. It does not rely upon the presence of a particular early departure time card exception code. Trigger value: minutes left before schedule.

Insufficient Accruals: Warns the supervisor that an employee has scheduled time off but does not have sufficient accrued hours to cover the time off. Trigger value: number of days into the future from current day to check for employee’s with scheduled time off.

Late Departure: Compares the employee’s departure time to his scheduled departure time. It does not rely upon the presence of a particular late departure time card exception code. Trigger value: minutes worked past scheduled stop time.

Missing Punch: Warns the supervisor of missing punches. Trigger value: number of days prior to current day to check for missing punches. If an MP exception is found and the punch time is blank the employee’s name is included in the notification.

Prior Pay Period Open: Warns the payroll operator that the prior pay period has not yet been closed. Trigger value: number of days after pay period end the notification should be generated.

Tardy: Compares the employee’s arrival time to their scheduled arrival time. It does not rely upon the presence of a particular late arrival time card exception code. Trigger value: minutes arrived after schedule.

Time Card Exception: Warns the supervisor of the presence of a specified time card exception code on that day’s time card. Trigger value: exception code.

Unapproved Time Cards: Employee:  This notification is available when employee time card approvals are required. The payroll operator can configure a series of messages that are sent to employees as reminders that their time cards need to be approved. No trigger value; the number of days after the end of the approval period at which time the notification is to be generated is specified on the pay calendar. Up to 10 messages can be created; the last message is repeated until the end of the day.

Unapproved Time Cards: Supervisor: This notification is available when supervisory approval of employee time card is required. The payroll operator can configure a series of messages that are sent to supervisors as reminders that time cards need to be approved. No trigger value; the number of days after the end of the approval period at which time the notification is to be generated is specified on the pay calendar. Note that when employee approval is required as well as supervisor approval, the employee must approve their time card before the supervisor receives notifications. Up to 10 messages can be created; the last message is repeated until the end of the day.

Upcoming Break: Warns the supervisor that an employee has worked a specified number of hours without taking a break of a certain length. Trigger values:
